アメリカの老人局（Administration of Aging）は、アメリカ公衆衛生協会（APHA）と
協力して、全米公衆健康ウィークを4月4日から10日まで行う。
三つのPが目的だ。
（１）健康な生活による健康の維持
Preventing health problems by practicing healthy living.
（２）病気の早期発見による健康管理
Protecting your health through early detection and screening.
（３）高齢期の人生の質をたかめる健康管理プランの作成
developing a Plan to manage your health that will promote a high
quality of life in later years.
APHAには現在、160のパートナーと6のスポンサーがいる。
6のスポンサーは
１．Association of American Medical Colleges
２．American Legacy Foundation
３．The California Endowment
４．National Association of Community Health Centers, Inc.
５．The Boston Medical Center Alliance for Aging Research
６．The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation
とかなり豪華。
又、今回のキャッチコピーが
"Empowering Americans to live Stronger,longer"であった。
ここでstrongerを強調する辺りが非常にアメリカらしい。
シニアだからと言って、扱うものが健康だからと言って、決して
弱者扱いしない。
普通になるための健康週間ではない。
むしろ、体が”強く”なるための健康プロジェクトなのだ！
